Telstar prepares for Sparta derby: 'The advantage is that you are on Teletekst channel 1'

Telstar is preparing for the Sparta derby. Coach Henk Brugge is not concerned with the top position, but wants to win against Sparta. 'The advantage is that you are on Teletekst channel 1', says Brugge. 'We are busy with the plans to achieve a result against Sparta on Friday.'

The Telstar squad is fit for the match against Sparta. Rui Mendes states that he feels at home at Telstar. 'Everyone is very nice and I feel like I'm in the right place.'

Mendes came to Velsen-Zuid this summer and showed his value immediately with a crucial goal. 'Telstar was my first professional opponent', he says. 'I can still remember the 1-1 draw on the artificial turf.'

Telstar is currently in 5th place in the Eredivisie with 3 points, 1 win, 0 draws, and 0 losses. The club will play against Sparta Rotterdam (away, 31 January 2027).
