Telstar secured a valuable point on Saturday at the Abe Lenstra Stadion. Henk Brugge's side held SC Heerenveen to a 0-0 draw, aided by several key saves from goalkeeper Ronald Koeman.

Heerenveen created the better chances, primarily through striker Dylan Vente. The 27-year-old forward, formerly of Feyenoord, shot over in the seventh minute after a pass from Levi Smans. He headed wide just before halftime. Telstar focused on defending in the first half. After the break, the team sought more attacking play, but this led to increased pressure from Heerenveen in the final quarter. In the 76th minute, Vente had another opportunity, which was also dealt with. Koeman was then forced into a good save following a phase where Telstar had pushed forward themselves.

With this point, Telstar now sit 13th in the Eredivisie. The club has five points from six matches, with one win, two draws, and three defeats. Their goal difference is minus six. The result before this match was a 1-0 defeat to FC Twente. The full standings are available here.

Manager Henk Brugge, a former assistant and interim coach at Heerenveen, will be pleased with his team's discipline. The next challenge is an away fixture against AZ Alkmaar, who currently sit second. That match is scheduled for September 20. The complete fixtures schedule shows the programme.
