Telstar won the play-off final against Willem II on Sunday with 3-1. The club from IJmuiden thus returns to the Eredivisie after 47 years.
Telstar won the first match on Thursday with 2-2 and therefore had a good starting position for the return.
The fans of Telstar are very enthusiastic about the promotion. They celebrate it on Plein 1945 in IJmuiden. Baker Barry from Beeksma Banket says: 'Telstar is very much alive in IJmuiden'.
The promotion means that Telstar will play against top clubs like PSV and Ajax next season. Supporter Hans Lammers says: 'Next year we will probably be at the bottom, but we will have played against PSV, Ajax etc. In that season. That's nice?!'
