Telstar announced on Monday, January 24, 2024, that 24-year-old Sem Valk is transferring from FC Dordrecht to mid-2029. Valk, former captain, has played 71 official matches for Dordrecht and one for Feyenoord.
Valk came through the Feyenoord youth academy, made his debut for the first team in 2021, and in 2024 played two competitive matches for Dordrecht in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie. His departure follows the summer of 2024.
Technical manager Peter Hofstede stated: "Sem is a player who has already shown many leadership qualities. He brings height, football sense and mentality. We are convinced he will make an important contribution."
Valk replied: "I am very happy with this step. Telstar has a clear ambition and I look forward to becoming part of this club and achieving great results together."
The transfer adds experience and leadership to the back line of the White Lions, who are setting up to establish themselves in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie in the coming seasons.
Telstar confirms arrival of Sem Valk
In a second report, Telstar confirmed that the 24-year-old central defender signed a contract at the BUKO Stadium that binds him to the club until mid-2029. The transfer is an important step in strengthening the defense.
Valk, known in Dutch professional football, came through the Feyenoord youth academy and made his debut for the first team in 2021. At FC Dordrecht he grew into a mainstay and eventually wore the captain’s armband. His arrival brings height, football sense and the right mentality to Velsen-South.
